Agenda

ITA-LAC 2026 moves industrial transformation from ambition to execution, anchored by the launch of the Climate Investment Funds’ Industry Decarbonization Program (CIF-IDP) for Mexico and Brazil.

Day One | Enabling & Financing Industrial Transformation

Strategy, policy and capital. Day One explores Mexico’s industrial transformation framework, hard-to-abate sector pathways across cement, steel and chemicals, financing structures beyond CIF, and the conditions required to move projects toward bankability and scale. The day concludes with facilitated sector roundtables designed to feed directly into the Day Two working session.

Day Two | From Strategy to Project Pipeline & Financial Close

Execution and implementation. Day Two is a structured CIF working session focused on what industrial companies need to advance a project through the CIF Industry Decarbonization Program, from eligibility and investment readiness to financing pathways, technical assistance and immediate next steps. Each block includes time for questions, and program advisors will be available for one-on-one meetings throughout the morning.

→ Participation in the Day Two working session is intentionally limited to maintain a highly interactive format among project sponsors, industrial operators, financial institutions and implementation stakeholders. Qualified industrial companies and project sponsors receive priority access, while additional participation is subject to availability.

The Path to CIF Capital

CIF Working Session

→ Coffee and informal networking from 8:30. Workshop programming begins at 9:00.

Day Two is designed for industrial companies exploring what is required to advance a project through the CIF Industry Decarbonization Program. The session follows the project journey in sequence: does your project qualify, can it be made investable, how will capital reach it, and what upstream technical assistance may be available?

Each block will include time for questions, and program advisors will be available for one-on-one meetings throughout the morning.

What participants will leave with:

  • Clearer information on what projects need to qualify, including program requirements, eligible technologies and GESI and Just Transition considerations
  • An understanding of how a qualifying project can be developed to the point where financing can flow
  • A clearer picture of how CIF capital reaches projects through the MDBs and the financing instruments available to de-risk investment
  • Insight into the technical assistance available to support project readiness, implementation and enabling conditions
  • An understanding of the immediate next steps and how to remain connected with Mexico’s CIF-IDP focal points

IDB Group and IFC will hold one-on-one meetings, bookable through the event app for attendees registered for Day Two.

Participation is complimentary, but capacity is limited. Eligible attendees may request an invitation during registration.
