Wednesday, May 7, 2025 – Pre-CREF

Hydrogen is fast emerging as a solution for energy security and resilience in island nations. In Trinidad & Tobago, green hydrogen is already a building block, enabling the production of green ammonia to meet new European demand.

However, the Caribbean faces challenges. Renewable energy—essential for the production of green hydrogen—lags demand, and green hydrogen is not economically viable without substantial international support.

The 3rd annual H2-Caribbean will convene the regional market to chart a pathway for Caribbean hydrogen development. Technology providers, developers, financiers and government officials will explore what it will take to build a robust regional hydrogen economy.

Ultimately: how close is the Caribbean to a hydrogen economy? Low-emission hydrogen is a new industry requiring resources, investment, and infrastructure. Not all islands have equal potential – which should lead, and which should wait?

How to Register

H2-Caribbean will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 before the official kick-off of the CREF main event at the JW Marriott Marquis from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm. It is an optional, additional registration item. It is complimentary for all senior Caribbean government officials who should contact us to receive a code to apply to the online registration for 2025. For all other attendees, the incremental fee to attend H2-Caribbean is $475. You will be provided with the option to register for it when you register for CREF.
