Ms. Cherri-Ann Farquharson is the Technical Chief of Staff at the Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE), where she leads the region’s energy transition through innovation, regional collaboration, and capacity-building initiatives. With expertise in knowledge management, project execution, and the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency, she drives key projects that advance sustainable energy solutions across the Caribbean.

Ms. Farquharson holds certifications in solar PV installation, wind energy, bioenergy, and energy management, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning. She has facilitated on-the-job training for over 70 young professionals through CCREEE’s Internship Programme and played a pivotal role in the Caribbean Energy Knowledge Hub (CEKH), expanding it to over 200 resources and a community of more than 650 members worldwide. She has also upskilled over 1,000 professionals through training courses and webinars, and led projects related to electric mobility, offshore wind, and energy regulations.

Ms. Farquharson actively contributes to professional networks such as the Jamaica Society of Energy Engineers and the Women in Renewable Energy (WIRE) Network, where she mentors the next generation of sustainability leaders. Her career includes academic and administrative roles at The University of the West Indies, where she helped develop renewable energy programs and facilitated the transformation of the Mona School of Engineering into the Faculty of Engineering.

Additionally, she contributed to curriculum development of the renewable energy curriculum at the HEART Trust National Training Agency and operations management at Facey Commodity Telecom Division, optimizing processes across the Caribbean, Central, and South America.

Ms. Farquharson holds a Master of Philosophy in Physics and a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Physics from The University of the West Indies, Mona. She is also a Certified Energy Manager and Solar PV Installer and a member of organizations like the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition and the Council on Women in Energy and Environmental Leadership. Her passion for sustainable energy, capacity building, and gender inclusivity continues to shape the Caribbean’s energy future
