  • IDB seeks bids for Colombia renewables consultancy contract

    The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has launched a tender for a consultancy contract that seeks recommendations for the integration of new renewable power generation projects in Colombia.  Expressions of interest for the US $1 million contract must be submitted before February 19.   Source

    MPC Capital AG  has launched a new entity named “MPC Energy Solutions” after raising $100 million. The entity has listed 5 projects under development in Colombia, El Salvador and Jamaica anticipating construction will start in the second half of this year and begin energy production at the end of 2022.   Source

    Colombia’s National Land Agency (ANT) said it has granted two easements in the department of La Guajira to Spanish group Elecnor SA (BME:ENO) for the purpose of building a 50-MW wind farm.   Source

  • Colombia to hold 5 GW renewables auction in Q1 2021

    The president of Colombia, Iván Duque, announced during the inauguration of a solar plant that the country’s second renewable energy auction has been scheduled for the first quarter of next year.
