  • Tres Hermanas wind farm increases Peru’s renewables mix

    Peru’s wind and solar energy output increased by 79%  year-on-year to 96 GWh. The opening of the Tres Hermanas wind farm is the source of this increase. The 97 MW site began operating in March. Thus far, Peru has seen an overall 8.3% increase in renewable energy last year.

  • IDB funds geothermal survey in Dominican Republic

    The Inter-American Development Bank has awarded the government of the Dominican Republic a $200,000 grant to conduct a 12-month study of geothermal potential. The “Specific Agreement to Evaluate the Geothermal Potential of the Dominican Republic” will examine whether there’s enough high geothermal energy to produce electricity.
