Aruba’s Prime Minister, Mike Eman, told climate wire that the nation will source half of its energy from renewable sources by the end of this year. In order to achieve its target of 100% renewables by 2020, Aruba will face the challenge of constant energy flows from PV and wind sources.
“When you have a very high percentage of renewables within the total capacity, there is one challenge, and that’s the fluctuation on the grid. The wind is not constant, the sun comes and goes, so the stability on the grid is very important,” said Aruba Prime Minister Mike Eman.
