Jeffrey Newton is a senior banking executive with over 23 years of experience in financial services. He currently serves as Senior Director, Credit Underwriting & Portfolio Management at CIBC Caribbean, with regional responsibility for credit underwriting oversight and portfolio performance across the Corporate Banking, Private Wealth and Business Banking segments.

Since joining CIBC Caribbean in 2015, Jeffrey has held a series of progressively senior leadership roles, including Director, Corporate Banking for Barbados & the OECS. In this capacity, they led high-performing teams delivering the full suite of corporate banking solutions, including structured lending, foreign exchange, cash management, and trade finance. Prior to this, Jeffrey spent 12 years as a pensions consultant in Barbados, building deep expertise in financial analysis and advisory.

Jeffrey is a Barbados Scholar and a three-time recipient of the CIBC Caribbean Annual Achiever Award. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science with First Class Honours from City University, London, and a Diploma in Actuarial Techniques from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Jeffrey is also a CFA Charterholder.
