Landolf Rhode-Barbarigos is an Associate Professor of Civil & Architectural Engineering at the University of Miami with secondary appointments in the Department of Ocean Sciences and the School of Architecture. He is also associate director of the Climate Resilience Institute, which advances interdisciplinary climate research, education, and collaborative solutions across the University of Miami.

His research focuses on innovative solutions that bridge the disciplines of structural engineering, architecture, coastal engineering, and ecology.

His work has been supported by grants from Transportation Research Board (TRB), National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and others, and recognized with prestigious awards, including the NSF CAREER award and the Academy of Science Engineering and Medicine of Florida (ASEMFL) Rising Stars award.

Landolf has been at the forefront of developing SEAHIVE, a green/gray protective system that is currently being piloted in South Florida and has garnered significant media attention for its potential to significantly benefit coastal communities.
