Mariana is an economist with more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of public policy, international finance and sustainable development.

As Head of the European Investment Bank’s Regional Representation for the Caribbean, she leads the Bank’s engagement across the region, working with governments, development partners, financial institutions and the private sector to mobilise investment that strengthens economic resilience, supports climate action and fosters inclusive growth.

Throughout her career, Mariana has advised senior decision-makers across government and international institutions on economic policy, investment and regulatory issues. Before joining the EIB’s regional representation, she led the Bank’s work on Human Rights, Responsible Supply Chains, and Health & Safety. Earlier in her career, she served as Economic Advisor to the President of Spain and Executive Economic Advisor to two Ministers of Housing, following experience advising clients on energy and other regulated markets at NERA Economic Consulting.

Alongside her regional role, Mariana co-leads the EIB’s Disability and Neurodiversity Employee Resource Group, supporting more inclusive and accessible workplaces.
