Paul A. Marchena, a native of the island of CuraƧao, brings more than 27 years of experience in enterprise risk management, insurance consulting, and risk advisory services across the Caribbean. His industry expertise spans energy, real estate, retail, and public sector organizations.
Based in the Cayman Islands, Paul serves as an outsourced Risk Manager for organizations in Grand Cayman and other Caribbean islands. In this capacity, he advises C-suite executives and boards on enterprise risk management, insurance program optimization, business continuity planning, crisis management, risk control, and other critical operational risk management challenges. Known for his consultative, practical, and results-driven approach, Paul helps organizations strengthen their risk management capabilities while stabilizing and reducing their total cost of risk over time. He works closely with clients to develop tailored solutions that support operational resilience, informed decision-making, and long-term organizational success. Clients value his ability to simplify complex risk and insurance matters, translating technical concepts into clear, actionable strategies that are easy to understand and implement.
Paul obtained his degree in Risk Management & Insurance from the prestigious Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, and is fluent in four languages (reading and writing). He holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations.
He is a co-founder and actively involved with AOFB, a not-for-profit community organization that helps restore dignity and hope through mobile showers and mobile laundry services.
