The 1st annual Caribbean ESG & Climate Financing Summit, co-hosted by Republic Bank, took place virtually on November 17-18.

Taking both a debt and equity perspective, we made the case to sovereign and corporate borrowers that ESG financing is an agent, not an impediment, for growth and long-term competitiveness. We explored the underlying principles, the financing tools currently available, and the players – borrowers, lenders and investors – already active in this space.

Gathering a large cross-section of government, finance and corporate leaders, the Caribbean ESG Financing Summit served to mainstream the concept of ESG and climate finance, and accelerated the roll-out of a new borrowing and investing ecosystem for the region.
