SunPower secured a PPA for a 500 MW solar project in Mexico in the recent renewable energy auction. This includes a 400 MW installation in Yucatan and a 100MW installation in Guanajuato. Peru’s Ministry of Energy announced that wind and solar energy output increased by 17.4% in February 2016. Hydropower plants and geothermal plants also saw an increase in energy output.
