Nearly 300 leaders from more than 30 countries gathered in Miami on September 15 and 16 for the tenth annual Caribbean Infrastructure Forum, making CARIF 2026 the largest edition in the event’s history.
One of the clearest indicators of CARIF’s growing reach was the depth of senior public sector participation. The forum welcomed the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Ministers from Barbados, The Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Cayman Islands, and Guyana, as well as the Vice President of Suriname in addition to senior government officials from across the region.
Over two days, leaders from government, finance, development, and industry examined what it will take to move the Caribbean’s infrastructure priorities from ambition to execution. Discussions focused on building financeable and resilient projects, mobilizing private capital, strengthening project preparation, and creating the regulatory and institutional conditions needed to accelerate delivery.
The conversation extended beyond the main stage through the Rise and Shine Roundtables, focused networking, the fourth annual CARIF Industry Awards, and a post-forum visit to the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science.
The scale and seniority of participation reflected CARIF’s role as a meeting place for the people responsible for planning, financing, and delivering the Caribbean’s infrastructure future.
