  • Bermuda Government leads from front on electric vehicles

    Contractors have been asked to respond to a request for proposal on the supply of electric vehicles for the government fleet. The Bermudian government is attempting to procure a fleet of over 600 vehicles includes motorcycles, cars, trucks and various medium and heavy-duty vocational vehicles. Source

  • Dominican Republic power grid may prioritize hydro over solar and wind

    Dominican Republic power grid coordinator OC released a report with proposals to guarantee supply in the country’s four grid geographic areas in case of isolated operations due to atmospheric phenomena. OC recommends prioritizing dispatch from hydro plants due to their versatility and avoiding dispatch from solar and wind. Source

  • Jamaica to develop electricity loss reduction roadmap

    IDB approved technical cooperation funds to help Jamaica’s energy ministry develop a national electricity loss reduction plan. A roadmap will be drafted to determine the role of stakeholders, primarily power utility JPS, and required investment and technologies, and address regulatory, legal and institutional issues, among other areas.
