US company secures sizable contract to build four LPG spheres in Caribbean

US contractor McDermott International’s storage business, CB&I Storage Solutions, has secured a sizeable contract to build four liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) spheres for a Caribbean energy infrastructure project.

Under the work scope of the contract, McDermott’s storage business will perform engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction services for four LPG spheres, each measuring about 88ft in diameter.

According to the US contractor, a sizeable contract awarded to the company is expected to range between $1m and $50m. CB&I Storage Solutions senior vice-president Cesar Canals said: “We have a strong track record of executing world-class storage projects in the Caribbean and Central and South America.
