The Geothermal Development Facility has issued its fourth call for Expressions of Interest for geothermal projects funding. Projects in the following eligible countries, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Chile, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica and Perú, can apply for funding under this scheme. The Las Pailas II Geothermal project in Costa Rica achieved a 55MW rate capacity yesterday. Costa Rican Electricity Institute engineer Didier Ugalde announced the successful operation of its plant.
