A delegation from Caricom will travel to Cuba to assess renewable energy opportunities. Devon Gardner said that the plan is to discuss initiatives such as producing biogas. South Korea to invest USD 36.6m in Nicaraguan PV plan

South Korea will loan $33.3 million USD to the government of Nicaragua for the development of a solar project that will impact 164 communities. The government of Nicaragua will also invest $3.3 million USD in the project.
Cayman Islands could go 100% renewable

A legislator on the Cayman Islands is calling for the island’s government to establish a policy to hit 100% renewable energy by 2035. At present, the government has an established policy that calls for 13.5% renewables by 2030.

SunPower wins 500MW solar power projects in Mexico

SunPower secured a PPA for a 500 MW solar project in Mexico in the recent renewable energy auction. This includes a 400 MW installation in Yucatan and a 100MW installation in Guanajuato.
