St. Vincent moves forward with 10-15 MW geothermal project

The Energy Unit and the St. Vincent Geothermal Company will host two public meetings next week to discuss the ongoing geothermal energy project near the La Soufriere Volcano. As work continues on the 10 to 15 MW plant, the two agencies have decided to host sessions to inform the public of advancing plans. The first meeting will take place on September 24th at the Farmer’s Training Institute, Orange Hill; the second meeting will be held on September 25th at the North Union Secondary School auditorium. Additionally, the Unit will meet with all government agencies this week, to share information about the geothermal project, review environmental and social management plans and discuss stakeholder engagement.
