MPC Energy Solutions Begins Development on El Salvador Solar Plants

MPC Energy Solutions (MPCES) closed the financial deal with a local lender, Banco Agricola, for the Santa Rosa & Villa Sol solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in El Salvador – with a combined capacity of 21.07 MWp. MPCES expects the plants to begin energy production towards the end of 2022 – generating around 43 GWh a year and avoiding nearly 11,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year. The company predicts the plants will bring around USD 3.5 million in annual revenue contribution. MPCES will sell the energy generated from the plant through a 20-year USD-denominated PPA with CAESS, a local subsidiary of the US-based energy company AES.
