Mega Solar Project Still Moving in Puerto Rico

Covid-19 has not stalled the Caribbean’s largest solar project. Greenbriar Capital recently signed an agreement with China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) for design and construction of its massive Montalva solar project in Puerto Rico. Planned for the island’s southwest coast, Montalva would launch with 80 MW AC of photovoltaic and the capacity to expand up to 165 MW AC. Greenbriar estimates that the project will save Puerto Rico’s electricity consumers up to $2 billion in fuel and operating costs over the 35 years of the power purchase agreement.
