The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has signed a loan agreement with the Government of Bolivia for a US$552m loan for the construction of the Laguna Colorada Geothermal Power Plant. The funding will extend to the construction of a 100-megawatt geothermal power plant, transmission lines and incidental facilities in Sol de Mañana. The director of the Laguna Colarada Project, Marco Escobar Seleme, and JICA’s Director General for Latin America, Hajime Takeuchi, have both confirmed their participation in GEOLAC 2017, in Mexico City, April 25-26.
