German wind project developer enters market in Panama

PNE AG, a German wind projects developer, has bought five wind energy projects in Panama – their first movie for entering the Latin American renewable energy market.

The company delivers clean energy projects through their phases of development, project planning, realisation, financing and operation. Their operations are international, with a presence in fourteen countries on three continents. Its 270 MW of installed wind and 130 MW of solar PV include both onshore and offshore projects.

PNE AG is now entering the Latin American market, creating a hub in Panama with the acquisition of five scheme from InnoVent Central America SA.

Some of the assets acquired are in advanced stages of development. The company announced the electricity produced would be marketed via PPAs.

β€œIn Latin America, we see great potential for the expansion of renewable energies – both in wind energy and in photovoltaics,” said PNE AG’s CEO Markus Lesser.
