TransCanada to develop $800M US energy storage and transportation project in Mexico

TransCanada Corp. has plans to develop an US$800 million refined fuel storage and transportation project. The company has partnered with Sierra Oil and Gas, and Grupo TMM to build 265 kilometres of pipeline and an inland distribution hub in central Mexico. As the principal development partner, TransCanada will hold 50% interest on the investment, adding to a total of US$5 billion invested on in-country projects. The pipeline will carry roughly 100,000 bpd of refined fuel will be carried from the coast to central Mexico, running parallel to the US$500 million Tuxpan-Tula natural gas pipeline project that it was previously contracted to build.
