Elea Data Centers and AXIA Energia will participate at the inaugural Latin America Data Center Power & Infrastructure Summit (DCPI-LATAM 2026), taking place July 14-15 in Rio de Janeiro, following the announcement of BEL1, the Brazilian Amazon region’s first AI data center.
BEL1 is expected to launch with 7.5 MW of capacity, with the potential to expand to 100 MW in future phases. Elea will operate the facility, while AXIA Energia will supply 100% renewable energy under a Power Purchase Agreement.
The project reflects several of the forces reshaping Brazil’s data center market: access to renewable power, proximity to high-voltage infrastructure, new connectivity routes, regional diversification, and the rapid growth of AI-ready capacity.
At DCPI-LATAM, Ítalo Tadeu de Carvalho Freitas Filho, Executive Vice President of Commercialization and Energy Solutions at AXIA Energia; Cora Nogueira, ESG Executive Manager at Elea Data Centers; and Fernanda Belchior, Marketing & Sales Director at Elea Data Centers, will bring direct perspective from one of Brazil’s most closely watched new AI infrastructure projects.
Their participation underscores the central role of power strategy, renewable energy procurement, and infrastructure readiness in determining where Brazil’s next wave of data center capacity will be built.
