El Salvador invites bids for expanded, 170-MW renewables tender

El Salvador’s power distributor, Delsur, has invited local and international parties to participate in the second tender for renewable energy contracts. In this round, the utility has increased the maximum capacity targeted from 150 MW to 170 MW. All contracts awarded will carry a term of 20 years. Those must complete an inscription between June 15 and August 29, 2016; parties interested in bidding are required to pay a fee of USD 5,650 (EUR 5,000), including tax. The tender documents are expected to be delivered on October 19, while the opening of economic bids is scheduled for December 28, 2016.
