Dominican Republic to commission 240 MW of wind and solar in coming months

The Dominican Republic Electrical Industry Association (ADIE) has announced this week that 240.3 MW will be connected to its national grid in the coming months. This boom of new renewable projects will see five large scale renewable projects commissioned, which include 183 MW of wind and 58 MW of solar capacity. The total investment of these projects is approximately US$500 million.

This investment has increased the share of renewable energy in the island’s power generation, which today represents one of the most diversified electricity matrix in the region.
