Sherron Barker is a fisheries, coastal and ocean management professional with more than 15 years of experience in sustainable fisheries, climate resilience, marine conservation and regional programme management.

As Regional Project Coordinator at the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism, he leads implementation of the Global Affairs Canada-funded Sustainable Technologies for Adaptation and Resilience in Fisheries (STAR-Fish) Project across eight Caribbean countries. His work focuses on advancing renewable energy and energy efficiency within fisheries and aquaculture value chains, developing viable financing and business models, supporting low-carbon transition, and strengthening gender-responsive governance and enterprise resilience.

Before joining CRFM, Sherron managed the Sustainable Seabed Knowledge Initiative at the International Seabed Authority. He has also led fisheries, conservation and coastal-community programmes in Jamaica, working closely with governments, fisherfolk organizations, development partners, NGOs and community stakeholders.

Sherron holds an MSc in Integrated Coastal and Ocean Management and a BSc in Marine Biology and Zoology. He brings to CREF a practical regional perspective on translating renewable-energy ambition into investable, inclusive and locally relevant solutions for Caribbean productive sectors.
