Since qualifying as an engineer, Ina de Visser has worked in the energy and climate sectors. She began her career in the private sector in the Netherlands and Tanzania, working on CHP plants and biofuel development. About 12 years ago she joined GIZ as an advisor, mostly in African countries as well as with the African Union Commission in Ethiopia. She then moved back to Europe to manage cooperation between the European Investment Bank and GIZ as a secondee to the EIB, working on energy, transport, and climate investments in low- and middle-income countries. Since late 2022, she has led implementation of the programme “Supporting the Implementation of NDCs in the Caribbean – Transforming the Transport and Energy Sectors,” with a focus on renewable energy and electromobility, from the island of Saint Lucia.
