Ms. Farnum is an accomplished development and project management practitioner with over two decades of experience spanning 29 countries. She has worked with international organizations, including the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the former Canadian Agency for International Development (CIDA), and the former Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), collaborating with several others, including the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Her extensive career includes experience in program management and organizational leadership within the NGO sector, notably during her time at the National Centre for Persons with Disabilities in Trinidad & Tobago. As the founding Managing Director of the Walkers Institute for Regenerative Research Education and Design (WIRRED) in Barbados, Ms. Farnum led the establishment of a non-profit think tank and living lab. Together with her team, she championed the scaling of climate-resilient initiatives developed at Walkers Reserve through a regenerative model. Ms. Farnum remains an active contributor to the sector, serving on the Board of Directors at WIRRED and as a member of the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) Technical Committee (TEC).
With a career dedicated to fostering innovation and growth in sustainable development, Ms. Farnum’s expertise spans diverse areas, including climate finance, renewable energy, eco-agritourism, regenerative agriculture, naturebased solutions, the circular economy, labor market stimulation, education, water and sanitation, and leadership development. As Director Public Sector Projects at the Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator (CCSA), she worked to align various sectors in building a climate-smart region, emphasizing renewable energy, the blue economy, climate-smart agriculture, and the circular economy.
Ms. Farnum holds a Master of Science in Project Management with a specialization in the Economics of Oil, Gas, and Renewable Energy from the University of Liverpool. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Sociology, and Management from the University of the West Indies. Additionally, she is certified in Organizational Leadership and Change by St. Francis Xavier University’s COADY International Institute, trained in Executive Leadership Coaching through Erickson Coaching International, and holds the globally recognized PMP certification.
