Jose Hereter is partner and business development manager at GME since 2019. He has more than 15 years of specific experience in the energy sector, leading both technical projects and business development related to utilities business and operations, power transmission and distribution, power infrastructure development, renewable energy projects, electrification planning and energy access projects, energy transition and sustainability, power generation technologies, as well as technical-economic consulting projects for different public and private clients throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia and Africa. He has a large track record with Utilities as he worked for almost 8 years at Edenor S.A., the largest power transmission and distribution Utility in Argentina, as project engineer in charge of overall control of large infrastructure projects in 220 and 132 kV power transmission networks as well as 33 and 13.2 kV distribution grids, including substations, electrical equipment, overhead lines and underground power cables. During this period, he was in charge of developing EPC power transmission and transformer station projects with full responsibility for defining technical standards for high voltage power products as well as the development of international tendering processes to buy power products contract electrical works. He also works in close collaboration with international donors and IFIs such as The World Bank, IFC, GIZ, Inter-American Development Bank, UNDP, International Solar Alliance, UNOPS, IRENA, and The World Resource Institute among others. In this regard, in the last years, Jose has been supporting the implementation of large European framework programs in LAC with focus on decarbonization and energy sector transformation like GET.Transform by providing operational assistance to implement the Team Europe vision in developing countries.
