Bruce Levy

CEO and President


Bruce Levy has more than 35 years of experience in the electric power and energy sector and is currently President and CEO of BMR Energy, a developer of clean energy projects across the Caribbean and Latin America. Under his leadership, BMR has developed and delivered wind and solar projects in Jamaica, Guatemala, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Costa Rica, and the Cayman Islands, including assets subsequently acquired by InterEnergy Group.

Prior to founding BMR Energy, Mr. Levy served as CEO of International Power’s North American IPP business, overseeing more than 7,000 MW of oil, gas, coal, wind, and solar generation across the United States and Canada. He previously served as CFO of GPU, Inc., a utility serving over 2 million customers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and as President and CEO of GPU International, where he led the development and operation of power generation and utility assets across the United States, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Mr. Levy has extensive experience in project and corporate finance, having structured and negotiated more than US$12 billion in acquisition, project, and asset-backed financing.

He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the City College of New York and an MBA in Finance from New York University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and has served on the Board of Trustees of the Liberty Science Center since 1999.
