Filippo Gabriele La Verghetta is acting Head of Regional Partnerships in the Caribbean, responsible for international partnerships’ strategies between the European Union and the region. He was previously acting Head of Unit for the European Fund for Sustainable Development +, a fund that uses financial instruments such as guarantees, equity, risk capital and blended finance in partnership with Development Finance Institutions. Before joining the European Commission, Filippo worked in business intelligence and infrastructure finance in emerging markets.

Filippo holds and MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and a BA in Politics and Arabic from the School of Oriental and African Studies.
