Trion Clarke

Trion Clarke is a Senior Environmental Scientist based in Stantec’s Hamilton Ontario office and has over 35 years of international experience in environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA), project management and procurement. He has designed and conducted numerous environmental impact studies, undertaken due diligence and feasibility studies, prepared tender packages and compliance conditions for developments in the aviation, infrastructure, transport, energy and mining sectors. He has operated as member of Owner’s Representative’s, Owners’ Engineer’s and Lender’s engineer’s team with responsibility for environmental components.

Trion completed his studies at the University of the West Indies Mona Campus and worked with the UWI for several years in various academic and technical capacities. As part of Stantec’s team, Trion’s recent roles in the Caribbean have included being the Environmental Specialist for the development of the Cayman Islands Airports Master Plans and the Landside Master Plan/Tender at the Linden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, Bahamas. Trion also led all aspects of environmental tender package development and bidder selection for the $11B CDN Ontario Line Rail project in Toronto and was the Environmental Lead in the Tender Package development for the Wataynikaneyap Transmission Line Project which included the development of over 1800km of transmission and distribution lines in Northern Ontario. His strong technical skills have been utilized in advising funding agencies, developers and multi-disciplinary teams on projects of various sizes, including large developments in environmentally sensitive areas. He has conducted negotiations with various levels of government and regulatory agencies, as well as engagement and consultation with public, stakeholders and indigenous communities in relation to these developments.

Trion holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Marine Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences from the University of the West Indies, Mona.
