Ian Chin is a senior financial executive with over 26 years of banking experience spanning retail, investment banking, and capital markets. He currently serves as General Manager, Corporate & Investment Banking at Ansa Merchant Bank Limited, where he oversees the structuring, placement, and trading of financial instruments across regional primary and secondary markets.

In the last decade, he has led the execution of over TT$50 billion in debt capital market transactions across multiple sectors, currencies and jurisdictions, providing bespoke financing solutions for sovereigns and top-tier corporates. He also established and leads AMBL’s Secondary Market Bond Trading Desk, which has generated more than TT$7.6 billion in trade volume.

In 2023, he spearheaded the development of the Bank’s Repurchase Agreement (Repo) Program, authoring the full policy and operational framework to expand the firm’s capital markets offerings.

Ian holds an International MBA in Finance from the University of the West Indies and a BSc in Economics and Mathematics. He is an influential voice in regional financial markets, serving on the Board of the Securities Dealers Association of Trinidad & Tobago (SDATT), chairing its Capital Markets Committee, and contributing to the CARICOM Private Sector Organisation’s efforts to establish a Regional Stock Exchange. He is also a member of AMBL’s Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO), working closely with treasury and risk management stakeholders.
