Minister of Health
Philip A Telesford is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He holds professional qualifications from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), the Association of Accounting Technicians, and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Secretaries, where he earned a Director Accreditation.
Minister Telesford’s career spans both education and finance. He began as a teacher at Happy Hill Primary School before transitioning into leadership roles, having served as a director on several boards including the Grenada Cooperative League Limited, Grenada Public Service Cooperative Credit Union Limited (Ariza), Gravel, Concrete & Emulsion Production Corporation, and Petro Caribe.
Philip is a husband and father of 4. Additionally, he is an active member of his local church and remains committed to community development and social transformation in Grenada and the wider Caribbean.
He was elected Member of Parliament for St. George South-East, representing the National Democratic Congress since June 23, 2022. He is the Leader of Government Business in the Lower House of Parliament, past Minister for Social and Community Development, Housing and Gender Affairs and is presently the Minister for Health.
In addition to his ministerial duties, Minister Telesford has played a significant role in regional public health governance. In September 2024, he was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), and he chaired the 30th Executive Board Meeting in March 2025, where he emphasized strengthening regional health systems and collaboration among CARICOM member states.
