Florian holds an MA in International Relations and a PhD in EU Trade Policy, having pursued his studies in Germany, Sweden, and Spain. He began his career in trade and investment promotion with a subsidiary of Germany’s leading business associations (DIHK, BDI, BDA, and ZDH).

Over the past 20 years, Florian has specialized in EU–Latin America and Caribbean relations, serving in a range of roles within the European Commission, including postings in Central America and, since 2022, Barbados. He currently serves as Team Leader for Transport, Digital, and Health Investments at the Delegation of the European Union to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean States, and the OECS.
