Danica is the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Lead at KPMG Caricom, where she serves as a Manager. She has been with KPMG for over ten years, having transitioned from the Barbados Audit practice to the Caricom Advisory practice in 2019, specializing in ESG over the last two years. Danica is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), a member of CPA Canada, holds a BSc in Accounting from the University of the West Indies, and has several sustainability-related certifications. She has presented at various regional ESG conferences, such as those hosted by the Insurance Association of the Caribbean, EUROCHAM Trinidad and Tobago, AMCHAM Trinidad and Tobago, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados.
Currently, Danica is leading a significant project called the Future Island Economies Lab. This initiative focuses on finding innovative solutions to challenges faced by island economies, emphasizing environmental sustainability, social impact, and good governance. The Lab aims to activate ESG principles, drive revenue growth, expand markets, and influence the development of island nations, including infrastructure advancements.
