Cristina Simón is Director of Social Infrastructure at the Infrastructure and Energy Division at IDB Invest since February 2018. Cristina, a Spanish national, has solid experience in infrastructure financing for complex financial transactions in Latin America and the Caribbean. She has also worked on several education and health projects, advising both the public and the private sector.

Prior to joining IDB, she was Director of Infrastructure Finance and PPPs for ten years at Deloitte based in Colombia, Brazil, and Spain and Director at Asesores de Infraestructuras, integrated in Deloitte in 2008. Before that, she worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Department of Infrastructures, Government & Utilities in Madrid.

Cristina holds a Business degree from CUNEF (Complutense University in Madrid) and a master’s degree in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking from IEB in Madrid
