An official interactive workshop of the 9th Caribbean Infrastructure Forum (CARIF)
Hosted by KPMG and CIBC Caribbean
Develop Investment-Ready Projects for the Caribbean
Even the most essential infrastructure projects will struggle to secure funding unless they’re structured to meet investor expectations. This interactive workshop is designed to help public sector sponsors, infrastructure developers, and private capital providers understand how to move from concept to close, turning ideas into investment-ready, bankable projects.
Through expert-led presentations, collaborative discussion, and real-world case studies, this session will explore the building blocks of successful project finance in the Caribbean, with a focus on climate resilience, sovereign risk, and right-sizing for small markets.
What You’ll Learn
- What “bankability” really means: risk allocation, revenue models, and regulatory certainty
- Critical elements of feasibility and due diligence from a financier’s lens
- Common pitfalls that derail infrastructure projects in the Caribbean
- Financing tools: PPPs, blended finance, donor grants, and credit enhancements
Interactive Exercise: “Would You Fund This?”
Put your skills to the test in a live simulation where you’ll step into the role of investor. Guided by expert reviewers, participants will evaluate sample project proposals, assess risks, and determine which ones merit funding—and why. It’s a hands-on way to understand investor thinking and strengthen your own project planning.
