The World Bank announced recently that it would launch a region-wide forum focused on energy efficiency in Central America. CentroAmerica Eficiente, the first forum of its type, will gather senior government officials, large end-users of energy such as hotels and banks, and international providers of financing and technology to catalyze the adoption of programs and projects across the region. Ultimately the World Bank views energy efficiency as a critical means to promote competitiveness across Central America.
