Barbados’ Minister emphasises importance of education in developing green energy innovation

Barbados’ Minister of Energy and Water Resources Wilfred Abrahams addressed attendees of the Sixth international Conference on Higher Education and emphasised the importance of utilising graduates’ skills to help Barbados’ reach its goal of 100% renewable energy by 2030.

The role of education, he noted, is essential in developing a culture of practical research and innovation into green energy alternatives.

The Minister also emphasised the importance of Barbados implementing innovative and sustainable measures in renewable energy, and taking advantage of its solar, wind and oceanic resources to provide clean power to the island.
