Preparations under way for drilling and construction at Nevis project

Final preparations are underway to build a geothermal facility in Nevis. The coordination is being handled by developer Thermal Energy Partners LLC (TEP) through its affiliate NRE International (NREI), which has begun a series of final design reviews and analysis of utility interconnection. Joining TEP and NREI in the venture are technical teams from Turboden and the French firm Clemessy, a subsidiary of Eiffage, which will provide EPC services for the project. Representatives for all partners were on hand this week to assess progress made after TEP conducted well testing and monitoring exercise in March. Bruce Cutright, CEO of TEP, said that the project is on-track to have a fully completed geothermal plant by the end of 2017. Deputy Premier Mark Brantley stated, “Nevis’ has a commitment to achieving our climate change goals that includes significantly cutting energy costs to our citizens and to transitioning our Island to a totally independent renewable energy source.”
