Iberdrola to invest US$5 billion in Bahia grid expansion through Neoenergia

Iberdrola plans to invest nearly USD 5 billion in electrical infrastructure in Brazil’s Bahia state through 2030 via its subsidiary Neoenergia. The investment will fund major grid expansion, including 54 substations, over 2,000 km of high-voltage lines, and 42,000 km of medium-voltage networks. The Bahia plan represents about half of Neoenergia’s broader USD 10 billion five-year distribution investment program across Brazil following its concession renewal.
