HIF Global’s US$830 million Cabo Negro carbon-neutral fuel plant has been unanimously approved by the Magallanes Environmental Assessment Commission (Coeva), marking the first major green hydrogen-related project in the region. Submitted in October 2023, the project will build a 60-hectare e-fuel plant in Punta Arenas to produce e-methanol, e-gasoline, and e-LPG. The approval follows a positive recommendation from the regional Environmental Assessment Service.
