The University of Chile has inaugurated a 300 kW solar plant and a sustainable hydroponic greenhouse at its Antumapu Campus in Santiago. The solar installation, made up of 620 panels, will generate about 504 MWh annually—covering 36% of the campus’s energy needs—through an ESCO model with Lader Energy. Complementing it, the greenhouse serves as a research and production lab, using solar power and water captured from air humidity to grow crops with minimal water use.
