Argentina awards 667 MW in first battery storage tender

Argentina has concluded its first battery energy storage (BESS) tender, awarding 667 MW of projects—well above the 500 MW target—after receiving bids totaling 1,347 MW from 15 companies. The selected projects, representing over US$540 million in investment, will be installed in the Buenos Aires metro area and are expected to come online within 12–18 months.
