Cementos Argos to contribute 10% of Colombian energy savings goal

Colombian cement company, Cementos Argos, has signed on board to reduce its energy consumption. The company will put excess energy produced at its varies sites back into the grid. Additionally, use of cement mills will be limited during peak hours.

Through these changes, Cementos Argos will save the equivalent of energy needed to power 130,000 homes.

Jorge Mario Velásquez, CEO of Cementos Argos said,

“We are convinced that by joining our efforts, we can multiply results. That is why, if all companies and families put their best foot forward, we can all contribute to energy saving and create habits that allow us to preserve resources that are fundamental to our planet’s sustainability.”
