  • Mexico ranked sixth in the world for geothermal capacity

    Mexico made the list of the top ten geothermal countries based on installed capacity. Coming in at 6th (just behind New Zealand), Mexico has 962.7 MW installed capacity.  Countries in the top ten include (in order): U.S., Indonesia, Phillippines, Turkey, New Zealand, Mexico, Italy, Kenya, Iceland, and Japan.     Brazil has 700 GW in offshore wind potential, a new study shows. The report, Roadmap Eolica Offshore Brasil, indicates that the country would need to adjust for offshore energy projects, including appropriate environmental licensing and vessels. Currently, Brazil has six offshore wind farms in the licensing phase with a combined capacity of 9,715 MW. Source

    The 25-MW first phase of the Solar Canoa photovoltaic (PV) farm in the Dominican Republic started operations on Friday, the office of the country’s president Danilo Medina announced.
