The Spanish wind company Acciona, has started commissioning a 183-MW wind farm (El Cartijo) in Tamaulipas, Mexico. El Cortijo, is now one of the first projects to secure a long-term power auction, and one of the first being developed as a product of Mexico’s Energy Reform.
This will be Acciona’s fifth wind farm in the country, bringing its capacity to 740 MW. The Spanish company is also bulidng a 404-MWp solar project in the state of Sonora.
