The Ministry of Health and Social Development has secured a US$250,000 grant from the OECS and Direct Relief under the Enhancing Health Infrastructure and Resilience Project (EHIR) to improve healthcare infrastructure and address climate-related health challenges in the Virgin Islands. The funds will support standby backup power for healthcare facilities, cold chain strengthening, and medical oxygen generation, including the installation of generators at six health centers and an oxygen generation plant at Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital.
